Shevya
Shevya is a 25 year old singer-songwriter based in New York City. Her music is heavily influenced by Bollywood, K-Pop, and RnB. Shevya aims to create Hindi music in the stylings of Western pop/R&B, representing a new genre of independent Indian music. Taking inspiration from artists like Billie Eilish and Doja Cat, she applies a unique conversational approach to her lyrics, creating a new style of Hindi songwriting.
Shevya started DST as a means to bring together the nyc desi music community, and hopes the success of this concert series can shine a light on south asian independent music globally.
Doyel das
Doyel Das is a singer-songwriter and actress based in New York City. She has been honing her skills in singing for over 20 years, and has seamlessly transitioned into songwriting, acting, and soon, filmmaking. She has performed sold-out shows in various venues across the city and is set to release her first original very soon.
DST is a way of building a door for Desi artists to connect with the community, discover new artists, and have a memorable night of live music in the city.
